How to determine your ring size
A ring should feel secure without drawing attention to itself. Reliable sizing depends not only on millimetres, but also on ring width, finger shape, temperature and the hand on which it will be worn.
Most reliable
Professional sizing rings in the workshop allow the width and inside profile of the future ring to be taken into account.
Using an existing ring
Measure the inside diameter of a well-fitting ring straight through its centre, from inner edge to inner edge.
For an initial estimate
Measure the finger circumference several times. String and paper can only provide a guide because tension changes the result.
Ring size equals inside circumference
In Germany, ring size normally corresponds to the inside circumference in millimetres. Size 54 therefore has an inside circumference of approximately 54 mm.
If you measure the inside diameter instead, use: diameter × π = circumference. A diameter of 17.2 mm is approximately size 54.

Frequently asked questions
Can I measure with a piece of string?
Only approximately. String can stretch or be pulled too tightly. A professional ring gauge is considerably more reliable for a made-to-measure ring.
Can a ring be resized later?
Yes. Resizing is always possible. It is usually simpler without stone settings; with stones, their settings must be included in the work.
We determine the final size together
During a consultation or wedding-ring workshop, size is checked together with width, profile and wearing comfort.
