Tantalum Wedding Rings – Dunkel, robust, hypoallergen – handgefertigt in Berlin

Tantal

Rare. Dark. Enduring.

The Material

Tantalum is a rare metal with exceptional properties – ideal for those who value substance.

Dark Grey

Distinctively dark, ranging from anthracite to almost black. Minimalist and modern.

Durable

Very robust, though not scratch-proof. Suitable for everyday wear; fine traces of use are normal.

Hypoallergenic

Well suited to sensitive skin and unlikely to cause allergic reactions.

Why Tantalum?

Tantalum is a rare metal with a distinctive dark-grey colour. Its density is comparable to gold alloys, so the ring feels substantial without being excessively heavy.

The dark colour is not applied; it is a natural property of the metal. There is no coating and no discolouration. Tantalum combines minimalist design with lasting durability.

Pure tantalum is subtle, while its combination with gold creates a striking contrast between dark and warm tones. During your appointment, we determine which version suits you.

With a Gold Inlay

Tantalum with a fine gold line in red, yellow or rose gold – a warm accent in the dark metal.

With Mokume Gane

Tantalum on the outside, Mokume Gane inside – a combination of darkness and distinctive grain.

Frequently Asked Questions

Brief answers to help you decide whether tantalum is right for you.

Is Tantalum Suitable for Everyday Wear?

Yes. Tantalum is highly durable, but not scratch-proof. Fine traces of wear develop over time with daily use, as they do with all metals.

Can Tantalum Rings Be Resized Later?

Yes. The ring size can be adjusted like that of conventional rings. Inlays, inlay work or gemstones may impose limitations and must be considered in advance.

Is Tantalum Hypoallergenic?

Yes. Tantalum does not cause allergic reactions and is well suited to sensitive skin.

How Heavy Is Tantalum?

Tantalum has a density comparable to gold alloys, so the ring feels substantial without being excessively heavy.

Which Other Metals Do You Offer?

Alongside tantalum, I work with platinum, palladium and various gold alloys, including yellow, red and rose gold. During your appointment, we find the material that suits you.

Is Engraving Available?

Yes. Laser engraving is included with my wedding rings. We discuss the wording and style during your appointment.
